Warm, friendly, and comforting – like mashed potato and cheese.
We’re Frodo Freud and we’ve been soothing and amusing with our laid-back tunes for the last 7 years. Rather than pursuing a glittering career in pop, our acoustic 5-piece has instead concentrated on writing and performing charming songs to pacify and please. Feel free to
download some of them and be suitably satisfied.
The band is named after two chimpanzees and we sing songs about fish, owls, and rats-that-are-also-bats. This may or may not be related to the fact we practice adjacent to a 100KW nuclear reactor. Ant & Joey’s melodious, blues-influenced harmonies sit astride Sophie’s rich cello undertones whilst Boycie’s exuberant baselines and Matt’s tribal djembe rhythms complete our sound.
We are the pioneers of the mid-set raffle and the fully-interactive audience participatory kazoo middle-8. This unique attitude to live performance has made us a popular choice for festivals and venues in London, Reading and further a-field.
Whilst championing the use of bendy straws, a communal book for collecting ideas and piratical eye patches, most of all Frodo Freud endorse peace and quiet.
